Efficient experimental quantum fingerprinting with channel multiplexing and simultaneous detection

Quantum communication complexity studies the efficiency of information (that is, minimum amount required to achieve a certain task) using quantum states. One representative example is fingerprinting, in which simultaneous message passing model considered and could be exponentially smaller than classical fingerprinting protocol. Experimental demonstrations based on practical protocol where coherent states are used construct fingerprints, have successfully shown superiority fingerprinting. However, as consequence states, time this (CQF) increased. Moreover, communicated these experimental largely limited by dark counts single photon detectors. Here, we propose enhance performance existing CQF through applying wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) detection multiple channels. We show that new WDM-CQF can potentially reduce significantly. More importantly, with same parameters, much reduced scheme compared original The more channels used, less also perform proof-of-concept demonstration 6 results further validate WDM not only beats protocol, but reduces half.
